Maia Luxury Resort and Spa, Seychelles

Maia Luxury Resort and Spa, Seychelles

There are hundreds of great hotels around the world, but few offer such an excellence and personalized service as the Maia Luxury Resort and Spa. Located on the oldest island in the world, Mahé in the Seychelles, the resort grew on a hill surrounded by tropical forest and around a white sandy beach bathed by the incredible sea of this archipelago.

As soon as I arrived at the hotel I knew my days here would be fantastic. The gardens of the resort are incredible, with a huge diversity of flora, honestly much more interesting than the botanical garden of the island. The resort has only 30 villas and maybe thats the reason why the atmosphere is so intimate.

I was introduced to my Private Butler, the fabulous Jay, who was relentless and made our stay memorable. Yes the hotel offers guest a private staff member to deal exclusively with you … just call and ask for what you need, when you need. We went by golf cart to my Villa at the top of the hill and surrounded by forest, the view is stunning … I haven’t seen the room yet  but I was already amazed with the that private infinite pool. Next to the pool there is a deck and lounge with a kitchen where breakfast can be prepared right there (if you wish) by the hotel staff.

The villa has a total of 250m2, more than enough space to feel not going anywhere in the next days. The whole room is in tropical wood and with large windows overlooking the sea, the room is delicately decorated and “Romance” is the first thing that will come to your mind as soon as you enter there.

But the best part is the bathroom… A huge shower with windows to the outside, yes I took amazing baths here surrounded by the forest while I was getting crazy with the Hermés products that the hotel offers, ahah, I confess I’m a huge fan. The bathroom has a door to the outside where you’ll find a huge bath surrounded by water with absurd views to the beach.

Jay told me that we were expected at the Spa, it seems that all guests have a welcome massage included. The Spa, probably the most beautiful I have ever been, is open air and fully inserted in the forest, a true sanctuary of tranquility . The welcome massage was very relaxing, it was so good that I ended up returning to the Spa two more times, one for a full body massage and a Yoga class, and another at the end of the stay for a facial treatment.

The hotel has only one restaurant, but has available 5 types of cuisine and chefs, Creole, Mediterranean, Indian, Japanese and Thai. One of the things that fascinated the most is that the Maia Luxury Resort gives you freedom to do, eat what you want, when you want. Here you are complete free to ask your dinner at any time! Isn’t thins amazing?! Even if you want Cod Fish with cream at 02:00 in the morning at the beach, you can be sure that they will do everything they can to make it happen. Yes, you can also sleep all morning and have breakfast at 12:00 a.m., after all you are on vacation. The food is fabulous, the wine incredible … and everything is included, you can drink champagne, white drinks, great wines and delicious seafood dishes… It is an all-inclusive luxury!

On the second day I asked my breakfast to be served in the Villa, when I woke up next day I had Jay cooking me eggs benectid in the garden and breakfast was floating in the pool, there is no better to wake up than this, right? The next day he surprised us with the breakfast at the beach and at night with a dinner at the helipad with a fantastic view to the slopes of the island. For those going on honeymoon, these details are priceless. Not to mention all the mega production he did in the bathtub full of flowers, fruits and champagne for us to enjoy the sunset… Amazing experiences and incredible days I won’t forget. I was extremely well treated by an incredible and helpful staff that I will hardly find in another hotel. I honestly hope one day I will be able to return to this place. I also wish that all of you could have a similar experience as I had. Thank you!
